What iOS will show after the battery replacement

Like the iPhone XR, XS and later, the iPhone 11 shows in Settings › General › About whether its battery has been replaced. According to Apple, “Genuine” appears when a genuine Apple part was installed using Apple’s own repair process; “Unknown” for a battery that isn’t genuine, isn’t functioning as expected, hasn’t been verified and linked to the iPhone after the repair, or can’t otherwise be verified.

The “Used” label only applies to iPhone 15 and later with iOS 18. On the iPhone 11, a used-original battery will therefore show as “Unknown”, and the battery health reading may be less accurate. These messages don’t stop you from using the phone, but an unknown part might lower its trade-in value: before we start, we tell you what your option will show.
