iPhone 15 at a glance: what matters for the repair

Launched in 2023, the iPhone 15 lineup is the first to replace the Lightning port with a USB-C port. All four models have a Super Retina XDR (OLED) display with the Dynamic Island and unlock with Face ID.

The iPhone 15 and 15 Plus have a colour-infused glass back and an aluminum band. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have a matte glass back, a titanium band and an Action button instead of the ring/silent switch. Those differences change the price of some parts, especially the screen and the back glass.

Cracked or black screen, or touch not responding

Battery draining too fast

Battery replacement from $29, plus tax, often in 10 to 30 minutes, depending on the model and parts in stock. Check Maximum Capacity in Settings › Battery: around 80%, or if the phone shuts down on its own or slows down, it’s time. USB-C port not charging

Before replacing anything, we check the cable, the charger and the inside of the port: lint packed at the bottom of the USB-C port is often enough to stop charging. iPhone 15 dropped in water or won’t turn on

According to Apple, iPhone water resistance is not permanent and may decrease as a result of normal wear. Since iOS 15.2, iPhone keeps a Parts and Service History in Settings › General › About. According to Apple’s documentation, a battery or screen that isn’t a genuine Apple part, or can’t be verified, appears there as an unknown part. On iPhone 15 with iOS 18, a genuine part previously used in another iPhone can appear as “Used”.
